I am so touched by all the articles on Dame Browne-Evans. She was a true trailblazer for women and all people in general. I was priviledged to work with her when I was active in the party many years ago. She will be truly missed.
On the political front, when will Bermudians living abroad have the ability to vote in a General Election? I am one who is still a registered voter and so anxious to cast my vote.
kinda funny how today Mr. Brown is so very proud to introduce a new inexpensive flight from the UK.....the same nation he wanted to cut all ties with this week !!
ah! bermuda! only a short chip shot from savannah, georgia, u.s.a. long have thought about moving to your majestic island; my wife and i work in mental health, me as a psychiatrist covering a wide spectrum of issues and diagnoses and my wife as a clinical psychologist at the phd level working in behavorial health and womens issues among others; this inquiry is to ascertain any need for our services and if possible to pursue licensure there; we are licensed in the state of georgia,u.s.a. any direction to follow up would be helpful, whether yea or nay. thank you. barry rozantine, md

Hi. PLP has done a lot. I think we must be better than UBP who favor their own, we mustn't do the same, but aim to be fair, looking out for white interest as well as black. Mind you, most bermudian whites already have house and business, but they shouldn't in any way be victimised like we were. We should forgive them and be fair, like they never can. We still have to change our judicial system which is biased, police who are bigots and racist, Regiment which victimizes black and white men and is unfair and booring, degrading and time wasting, tourism industry messed up by UBP, Education system messed up by UBP, our pride in ourselves messed up by UBP, and women human resource managers giving preferable treatment to their girlfriends and family. Also, we need to penalize Coldwell Banker, the real reason for the housing boom by saying average price was 1.2 mil, including 22 mil goldeneye skewing the numbers, build relations with carribean, develop local talent, make police protect black business as well as white and stop targeting blacks sitting on a wall relaxing, deal with male female hatred, encourage independence and family values, destroy white supremicy and become independent.

Hi, I totally agree with you there; this has been a long time coming for the PLP and I for one intend to keep them in power for a life time. UBP had been in power for "I think about 35yrs" and have not done anything positive for Bermudians. UBP are now getting scared, they were vexed when PLP won and now they are running scared because they see that the majority of Bermudians are more in favor of them. PLP have done so much for this island in such a short time and have been straightening up everything that the UBP have done wrong during their time as government. The police are so much quicker with response to call outs for domestic and business issues and they do not hide what they are doing like the UBP did and will do again if they were to get in power; however, I have always been a PLP fan and will continue to support them in anyway possible. Not sure about going independent though, this is a scary thing I think and not because of change I love change, but realistically it is because first of all, we have no garrison here, we won't have control over the ships fees to dock at our ports - they can choose their own price they want to pay and if Bermuda does not like their offer those very ships can turn around and go back to where they came from or port in another country of their choice. Further more how will we import our foods, clothes etc? As we all know, Bermuda has no factories here to make anything, what will happen to the duty fees, will we start having tax on our products? These are just a few concerns about going independent.
100% for but also a little concerned in the independence of Bermuda aspect.
I had a very interesting experience last night on YouTube when I responded to a speech made by Michael Dunkley, the Leader of the Opposition, on the BHC Scandal. Very interesting indeed.
I had added a comment about Mr. Dunkley's mother, owner of Dunkley's Dairy, who was involved in a scandal some years ago when she attempted to take money out of Bermuda illegally. As soon as I uploaded my comment on YouTube the plug was pulled and the site is no longer available to accept comments. Funny that!! Did I hit too close too home, Mr. Dunkley? It is okay for you to talk about someone else creating a scandal, but lo and behold don't mention anything about the scandal your mom created - breaking the law by not declaring that she had all this money in her possession and defrauding the people of Bermuda by not paying the tax on the money, as reported in the Royal Gazette.
I suppose in today's terms that would be called money laundering, but back then she was just being naughty so the courts gave her a slap on the wrist and told her to enjoy her holiday, while my black brothers and sisters had their funds confiscated and were not able to leave Bermuda. Shame on you Mr. Dunkley, for not revealing this information before you went spouting off about the BHC. Now don't get me wrong - wrong is wrong by any stretch of the imagination - but stop calling the kettle black if you have soot on your hands too. And particularly as your business has continued to thrive, when a lot of us have struggled and continue to struggle just to keep a roof over our heads and feed our families.
To those of you who tell us not to bring up the past, it is because you have something to hide. Don't forget the past, my people. Educate your children about the past so that they will not make the same mistakes. A people who do not know where they come from, don't know where they are going - remember that because they (the UBP) do - that's why they are still on top financially. They (the UBP) were in power for over 30 years - they did nothing for the majority of blacks, they destroyed our education system, destroyed our families, emasculated our blacks males, and are now using our own people to inflict more damage on us. Think about it.
My people, educate your children and grandchildren about the past. Educate them about the importance of exercising their vote. Educate them to vote PLP and PLP only - the UBP can't do anything for us - they have been screwing us for 30 years and now they wan't another chance - no way!! PLP ALL THE WAY.
P.S. Now I have to comb my nappy hair and put my scully on before I go to sleep.

Great TV Station.
As an almost senior it is very entertaining to sit and watch the history of Bermuda, particularly the Black History.
I even have my 8yr old grand-daughter watching this channel.
Bermuda's history may not be taught in the schools very much (Black History)but this is an excellent way of learning it.
It really instills a lot of pride in oneself just watching this channel.
Please continue the good work.

Oh my goodness, don't talk! The Government channel is the best creation EVER!!!!!!!! I have been so educated with the history of Bermuda so much ever since this channel has been introduced. PLP - Premier Brown stand your ground and keep pushing your ideas to the metal. You are doing great!!! I and many others who surround me support you and the PLP party 150%. When I was attending primary and high school, the teachers seemed to educate the students with a lot of American history, and I wondered what the purpose was because we lived in Bermuda not in America. So this channel that has been incorporated in or every day leisure lives is fantastic; as it covers not only Bermuda's history but also we get up to speed on who is into what business etc. Great TV Channel, please never give it up and I also love the MIRRORS group that has been created as well - "EVERYTHING PLP HAS DONE EVER SINCE THEY HAVE BEEN IN POWER HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING".
PREMIER BROWN and PART - KEEP UP THE BRILLIANT WORK AND ALL THE TRIMMINGS!
My prayers are that PLP wins! No ifs ands or buts about it. For the UBP to win "would be like a disaster without a cure."
We as Blacks have come a long way and Premier Brown, has raised and lifted the standards for black people in Bermuda to get ahead and he still isn't finished yet. The UBP brings up scandalous, derogatory information about the PLP to try and bring them down.
I ask myself, what did the UBP ever do for us blacks, but get rich off us, then they thought they were better than us, because they stole everything from our ancestors. Looking down at us like we were the scum of the earth.
Black Bermudians, need to look at what Premier Brown has done to Improve the island, verses what the UBP has ever done for blacks in the past.
Wake Up Bermudians, don't let the UBP corrupt your minds, they are full of folly. They hate to see the black men rise, if it was up to them we would still be chains.
Premier Brown and the PLP is looking out for your best interest. Do not fall in the trap of the UBP, who does not care an inkling about you. A new law needs to be made, that Bermudians living abroad can vote also. I would definitely vote for PLP.
Vote for PLP.....they are the best and they are the ones for you!
The UBP has stolen a lot of land from our ancestors, my family now is fighting to get back a land that was never sold to someone. The thing with this piece of land, no one in my family ever sold it but yet someone is starting to build on it; now what kind of nonsense is that? We are waiting on answers from the respective lawyers regarding the original or even a copy of the deeds that we still hold. Amazing isn't it? and this "transferring of land" supposedly was made in 1996-7. The minute PLP maintain their position in this island, this matter will be publicly addressed.
To respond to your statement, I agree with you 100%.

Baba Pauulu was my mentor. He opened a very large and significant door in my life. We met at the 2nd Conference for Human Settlements in Turkey 1996. He sat me down there and gave precise instruction on what I must do for Africa and the Indigenous Peoples of the World. Through our work in sustainable development, we can lift many lives to live better in peace. I hope everyone will take heed to this notion, that we must sustain Mother Earth through sound ecological best practices, like Baba Pauulu taught. One memory before I go: All-African Roof-top party in Turkey watching Pauulu lively to soukous!!! He had moves ya'll!!!
My sister Tammy Robinson kept me very informed of all activities and I wish I could have been there to give my support. On election day I wore my PLP T-shirt she sent me and was very excited to hear of the victory. Congratulations to ALL!

I would like to congratulate Dr. Brown on giving Bermudians the opportunity to excel particularily those who existed without hope a few years back.
On a recent visit 'back home' I was astounded at all of the positive changes in Bermudians which I very much believe Dr. Brown is very responsible for.
This old girl believes that his wonderful vision and passion to remove the brick walls of those who are suppressed is malicously viewed as prejudice by those who fear equal opportunties for all Bermudians.
I wish that those who fear his vision consider Dr. Brown's personal achievement at home and abroad and appreciate his drive and committment in providing such opportunies for all. Everything he gained required a vast amount of energy to achieving his personal goals. It is too bad that the newspapers tend to attempt to sway foreigners opinion by implying Dr. Brown is a racist. I am sure that Dr. Brown, like most Bermudians has some relatives and many friends who are every shade. After all.... he is a Bermudians too.
A dear friend of mine from Bermuda once told me that she warned her daughter about marrying a Bermudian... because one can never be sure how you are related to them. Truer words in my opinion, were never spoken.
Signed....

As a veteran of the US NAVY and man of African origin, I pray that Bermuda is uncorrupted, Because you people there are very blessed. I would love to come visit one day. My company takes care of homeless and mentally challenged men women and children. We would like to show our people another way of life besides the predatory way of life in America. Perhaps one day. Some one please educate us on the way of how this can be done costs process etc. Thank you GOD BLESS. HERE all they tell us is the Bermuda triangle stay away from there!! We know that is bull, Just like they talk about Africa and any other country that could promote well being for our people.
