Whitney Institute Middle School to remain open
The Ministry of Education and the Whitney Institute Board of Trustees are pleased to announce that the Whitney Institute Middle School will remain open.
The Government and the Whitney Trustees have listened to the concerns expressed by parents, students and teachers.
The Whitney Trustees met with the Minister of Education and Ministry officials on Sunday, June 29th, 2008.
Following a brief and productive meeting, an agreement was reached whereby;
• The Whitney Institute will remain open.
• The Whitney Institute will remain in the public education system for the next five years.
• The Ministry of Education will commit its resources to ensure that the Whitney Institute is maintained in a fit and proper manner for the education of its students for the next five years.
The Ministry of Education and the Whitney Institute Board of Trustees will forthwith commence negotiations to secure a detailed written agreement confirming the oral agreement that has been reached.
