The Bermuda Progressive Labour Party extends our deepest condolences to the Lister family on the passing of Mrs. Miranda Lister, beloved wife of Speaker of the House and long-serving PLP Member of Parliament, the Hon. Dennis Lister, and cherished mother of three sons: PLP MP Dennis Lister III, Russell, and Randall Lister.
A Life of Grace and Strength
Mrs. Lister was a woman of grace, strength, and quiet dignity who stood as a pillar of support for her husband, family, and our Party throughout decades of service to the people of Bermuda. Her warmth and steady presence were known and felt by many within the PLP and beyond.
Remembering Miranda Lister
PLP Chairman Dawn Simmons shared heartfelt words, stating:
“On behalf of the Executive and membership of the Progressive Labour Party, I offer heartfelt condolences to the Lister family. Miranda’s devotion to her family and her quiet strength behind the scenes reflected the very best of Bermudian womanhood. I have personal memories of working with Miranda going back to when we were the Sandys Branch, where she was an ardent and reliable source of support. She will be sorely missed.”
Premier and Party Leader David Burt added:
“Miranda Lister was not only the loving wife of one of our Party’s longest-serving MPs, but also the matriarch of a family that has given so much to the service of Bermuda. Her loss is deeply felt across our Party and our country. Our thoughts, our prayers, and our love are with the Lister family during this incredibly difficult time.”
Honoring a Legacy
The PLP family joins the people of Bermuda in mourning this loss and in honoring the memory of Miranda Lister’s life and legacy.
May she rest in peace.
