- Amended the Residential Care Homes and Nursing Homes Act to provide for better standards in our care homes.
- Introduced Local Radiation Therapy Converge for HIP and Future Care.
- Expanded the home health and seniors care benefit under HIP to provide additional income to families, while reducing overall costs to the healthcare system.
- Established the Ageing Well Committee to drive forward policies and laws that will ensure that the issues of our seniors are always front and centre.
- Initiated a programme through the Bermuda Housing Corporation to facilitate interest-free home improvement loans of up to $15,000 for families who need help modifying their home or that of their senior loved one.
- Installed fitness equipment in public parks around the Island in an effort to promote healthy lifestyles for Bermudians.
- Conducted a comprehensive review of mental health services in Bermuda and made progressive reforms to adequately address mental health challenges in our community.
- Reviewed the laws to reflect international best practices to enact a Charter of Rights and Responsibilities for seniors.
- Instituted annual cost of living increases for social insurance pensions that will be linked to the rate of inflation to help lessen the hardships that too many of our seniors now endure.
- Increased the mandatory retirement age for Civil Servants from 65 to 68 and up to 70 with approval from the Head of the Public Service.
