Hurricane Preparedness

Dear Bermudians,

With the likely approach of a Category 2 hurricane later this week, the Bermuda Progressive Labour Party urges everyone to remain vigilant and take the necessary precautions, including:

• Ensure that your home is secure.
• Stock up on medication.
• Secure outdoor furniture, plants, and anything that could become a hazard during high winds.
• Charge your phones and other devices.
• Ensure that you have working flashlights with extra batteries.
• Buy non-perishable food and water sufficient for several days.
• Do not venture outside during the eye of the storm or when the storm has passed.
• Please stay informed by closely monitoring weather updates from the Emergency Measures Organization and the Bermuda Weather Service.

While Bermuda has been through many hurricanes throughout our history, we must never underestimate the power and potential destructive force of these storms. Proper preparation is key to ensuring the safety of your families and our community.

Let us work together to face any challenges that may come our way as we, as a people, have always done—with strength and unity.
