Leadership Requires Global Engagement 🌍

In recent times, the One Bermuda Alliance (OBA) has demonstrated a fundamental misunderstanding of both governance and Bermuda's pivotal role within the region and the world. It's crucial to clarify that Bermuda does not have a caretaker government. The Constitution is explicit, and the OBA would benefit from reviewing it before making inaccurate statements. The government remains fully operational with the current Cabinet Ministers, and additional appointments will follow in due course, as is customary. There is no crisis at hand—just an opposition seeking headlines. 📰

Regional Reach 🌐

Currently, we are representing Bermuda at a significant CARICOM meeting in Barbados. Leaders from across the region are engaging in discussions on economic cooperation, trade, security, and development. These are tangible issues impacting Bermudians, from foreign direct investment to regional partnerships in the hospitality industry, which will help us grow our workforce and economy while collaborating on combating antisocial behavior. 🤝

A crucial topic at the meeting is food security, a top concern for our fellow Bermudians. The OBA's suggestion that international engagement is merely a distraction fails to recognize that ignoring global affairs is not a viable option for a country like Bermuda. They call for increased outreach to international organizations, yet criticize us when we take action to do so. How else can we grow our economy without engaging with international bodies? 🌱

Our commitment remains steadfast: we will continue to govern effectively, deliver for the people, and ensure that Bermuda is both known and respected on the world stage. 🇧🇲
