Meet Owen

Senator the Honourable Owen K. Darrell, JP, has dedicated his life to serving Bermuda, and is eager to bring his passion and experience to Constituency 15. Since appointed in October 2022 as Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport, Owen has demonstrated strong leadership and a commitment to uplifting our community.

Owen’s education began at Harrington Sound Primary and The Berkeley Institute, culminating in a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa. He returned home to teach at CedarBridge Academy and The Berkeley Institute.

A lifelong community advocate, Owen has held numerous leadership roles within the Progressive Labour Party including Party Chair and Chief of Staff to the Premier. His entrepreneurialism and commitment to local businesses is evident as taxi owner, association executive, and co-founder of Bermuda’s first digital taxi dispatching service.

His dedication to sports is clear from his roles as chair of the National Sports Centre and on the Public Golf Course Board of Trustees. He passionately supports Devonshire Colts FC and Cleveland County while also appreciating Bermudian talent in the arts.

Owen’s background as an educator and devoted father to Tatum and Oliver, along with his close relationship with his parents, Oliver and Marlette, drive his commitment to creating opportunities for future generations and caring for seniors in our community.

Owen is driven by a heart for service and a vision for a thriving Bermuda, starting with the role he can play as your MP for Constituency 15.
