Minister of National Security | Senator

The Hon. Ryan Robinson Perinchief, JP, is Bermuda's Minister of National Security and a Member of the Senate.

Ryan Robinson Perinchief is a Bermudian Barrister and Attorney, Notary Public, and Commissioner of Oaths, with a professional background spanning law, public policy, strategy, and institutional leadership. He is a Rhodes Scholar, holding a Master of Public Policy from the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, and a First-Class law degree from Durham University, where he specialised in Public and Constitutional Law and Counter-Terrorism Law and Policy. He was educated in Bermuda at Bermuda Institute and The Berkeley Institute.

Minister Perinchief began his public service career in the Cabinet Office's Economic Recovery Plan Project Management Office, before serving as policy advisor to the Financial Secretary at the Ministry of Finance. He completed his legal training at Conyers Dill & Pearman and was called to the Bermuda Bar. He went on to serve as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the Bermuda Credit Union, having previously served on its Board as Second Vice President. Over more than three years of service between the board and management, Minister Robinson Perinchief drove institutional transformation, constitutional reform, and led renewal efforts during a critical point in the Credit Union's history.

He is the founder of Quilombo Ltd, a Bermuda-based professional services firm providing legal, strategy, and management services. He advises organisations, institutions, and individuals across Bermuda and the wider Caribbean on legal, strategic, policy, and governance matters. Minister Robinson Perinchief was also a key architect of the commitments outlined in the Progressive Labour Party's 2025 Election Manifesto, serving as Chair of the Party's Research and Platform Committee.

Prior to his current appointment, Minister Robinson Perinchief held a range of governance and public service roles, including as Chair of the Bermuda Police Service Misconduct Hearings, a member of the Human Rights Tribunal, Chair of the Governance, Risk and Compliance Committee of the Bermuda Hospitals Board, and a Board Director of the Financial Intelligence Agency. Through these roles, he worked to foster accountability, integrity, and good governance.

He is the founder of Future Leaders Bermuda, a charity he established in 2017 to prepare young Bermudians to lead through study, service, mentorship, and empowerment. He has led the expansion of the organisation over ten years of programmes — mentoring over 119 Future Leaders — reflecting his broader commitment to nation-building and community-centred transformation.

Minister Robinson Perinchief is guided by a belief in public service, institutional integrity, and the long-term development of Bermuda and her people.
